We organize day trips in rural areas where you
will see the traditional way of life. We also provide you with comfortable
accommodation for a one night stay in our peaceful village. Here you
will see the beautiful scenery, and experience the traditional, culture and
have the opportunity to participate in local village activities and
ceremonies while getting to know and joke with the villagers. You will see
farmers at work and see how they earn a living to support their families. By
joining our tour it is our hope that you will have a better understanding of
village life and can contribute towards our community.
The journey begins by whisking you away from your hotel to your new
home for one night at a Balinese compound house in Bukit Batu Village,
10 km to the east of Ubud ,close to the local town of Gianyar and
within easy reach of the less touristy Bangli Regency. Once at the
Balinese family compound we will provide you with morning tea or
coffee with Balinese cakes and fruits.
We'll then bring you to the starting
point, for a fantastic short trek around the village among the rice
terraces. You will see how rice is grown and cultivated . Walk among the
rich flora and fauna following a river through the rain forest, as well as
learning about the sophisticated irrigation system and village
organization. Later we will start our short down hill cycle ride through
the beautiful countryside, stopping to visit a traditional temple and also
visit another authentic Balinese house. While on your trip our experienced
guide will explain to you about each part and function of the building.
Arrive at the finish point
back in your own house, where a Balinese lunch awaits.
The program continues:
Increase your knowledge , insight about the
habits
of villagers and take up activities such as : Sport activities, walking
through villages, cooking ala traditional Balinese, how to make
traditional coconut oil, how to prepare a small offering, bathing in a
natural spring, Balinese dance class, fishing at the river and so on.
In the evening we will go to the local night market (
Pasar Senggol ) where you'll find many varieties of Balinese food, local
beverage and local souvenirs for gift at a good price. We can prepare your
dinner from our menu. Dinner will be held and served by the owner of your
Balinese house, to bring all of you closer together.
In the morning we will provide morning tea or coffee ala continental
breakfast. Transfer back to your hotel.
